About the story
An exceptional jar of clotted cream arrives at Drift Café with three kisses for Leo. Before Noah Yalland can decide whether to mind, a telephone call takes them to Mallowcombe Barton, where a restaurateur lies dead over a heated pan. An apparent accident, a local quarrel and an unusually conspicuous can of cream offer convenient explanations. Noah follows altered records and carefully polished accounts towards the detail someone hoped he would overlook. The fifth Treggan Bay mystery mixes Devon food, village loyalties and wry first-person sleuthing.
